First, I’d like to take a moment to thank you all for your support in the last two years. I’ve loved running this business, which has given me the ability to share a skill I truly enjoy as well as the opportunity to meet such wonderful people. I truly believe taking the chance on opening this business was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life and I’m so blessed to have had this experience.
Second – I have some wonderful news to share! My husband and I recently found out we’re expecting twin boys, due May 5th. We are so excited and their big sisters can’t wait to meet them. My husband also recently accepted a new job, and one of the biggest benefits of this position is that he can work from home, which has afforded us with the opportunity to fulfill a long-term dream we’ve had for our family – moving back home to Connecticut. My husband and I met there over a decade ago and still have lots of extended family in the area. We are excited to be able to raise our children in the area we grew up, and also excited to have lots of help with the babies!
Of course, an unfortunate side effect of this move is that I need to say goodbye to all of you. I will still be accessible via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or cell phone (703.434.2258), but I will no longer be accepting new sessions in Northern Virginia. I hope to re-open Shannon Skypek Photography in Connecticut in the fall.

Again, thank you all so much for all the support and friendship you’ve given over the last two years – happy holidays and have a wonderful 2014!
